You will be working alongside Paediatric Ophthalmologists and Orthoptist only sessions at outer clinics when required. You will also be involved with technical assessments including biometry, photography and retinal scanning, all with leading-edge technology. University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is searching for a pediatric ophthalmologist at the assistant professor level or higher, BC/BE in ophthalmology with at least one year of subspecialty training in pediatric ophthalmology. Focus will be in patient care, teaching and research. Duties will include didactic and clinical training of residents and fellows. UPMC is a large, diversified, multi-hospital, tertiary care medical institution. The Elks Children’s Eye Clinic at Casey Eye Institute, Department of Ophthalmology at OHSU, is currently seeking a fulltime certified or board eligible orthoptist to work with our current group of 6 Pediatric Ophthalmologists, 1 Pediatric Optometrist, and 4 Orthoptists. As an academic department we have a pediatric fellowship and are involved in the ophthalmology residency training.
Our primary goal is excellent patient care, with clinical research being done through the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group (PEDIG). We also have an AACO approved orthoptic training program. The orthoptists evaluate and assist in treating pediatric and adult patients with strabismus seen in the pediatric ophthalmology practice or referred from other Casey Eye providers, co-manage patients undergoing amblyopia treatment, perform strabismus exams for clinical trials, and teach basic exam skills to residents and fellows.

Busy pediatric ophthalmology practice in Southern CA, looking for a Certified Orthoptist. Office consists of 1 main location, as well as 2 satellite clinics. Main office is 40 minutes from the beach and downtown Los Angeles, and 20 minutes from the closest ski slopes. The practice is pediatric and adult strabismus with 2 pediatric ophthalmologists, 1 pediatric retina specialist, and 3 medical, pediatric optometrists, and 3 techs. This office conducts more than 12,000 exams, and over 1,000 surgical procedures a year. The orthoptist is needed to work up and evaluate all patients, especially motility disorders and strabismus.
